Description

This is the second wine of Chateau Pichon Lalande. 49% Merlot (most of which used to go into the grand vin), 42% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot. In 2011 there is as much Reserve de la Comtesse as there is Pichon Lalande, and a final 20% of the estate’s production will be sold off in bulk. This is soft, smooth and easy-drinking. Polished and creamy with rounded tannins and a nice touch of subtle oak. A very attractive second wine that should give much early-drinking pleasure.
